Back in the Land of the Long White Cloud.
Lake Rotoma, North Island, New Zealand.  This lake is near Lake Rotorua, Lake Tarawera, Lake Rotoiti and others. It is quite the best lake.

This is Lake Rotoehu next to Lake Rotoma.

This is the Tauranga Harbour - our back yard and home.

The Bay of Plenty does offer plenty. A group of us went to Lake Okataina and Mt. Biked through to Lake Okareka. 2013.

Biking, Kayaking in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is a beautiful country with fantastic rivers to travel, wonderful bike trails and mountains to cross. Here is a pictorial of one of my visits to explore the country with Frank who was born in the Republic and now lives in Seattle.
We started on the Ohre river and finished up on the Danube.

China 2008 - 2010

In August 2008 we went to live and work at QSI International School, Shekou, Shenzhen, China. Shenzhen is in Guangdong Province of 30 million people. We were 60 min. by ferry from Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau.

This character was often sitting on the footpath smoking his brass pipe. I paid him for the photo and never saw him again!

These guys were here every day of the year. Begging.
Fresh vege every day outside the school.
The girlie bars were in the same street as our apartment. The girls? Well, they come out on dusk!
Sunrise from our apartment looking over Shenzhen Bay and the oyster boats. I think the haziness was caused by dust from the interior or just good old pollution!
Not exactly mountain country but this is Mt Biking Shenzhen style. We rode into a forbidden zone scooting past armed guards to get onto a construction zone on the water front. The couple I am with are from Vermont, USA and real keen bikers.Fantastic friends and great fun.
Hong Kong, one hour away by ferry was always a fun place to visit.
Chinese New Year fire works were spectacular especially when the fireworks barge caught fire!
Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.
A group of us went south to Kaiping for a 2 day Mt Bike explore of the Daialou district. These dwellings were built in the early 1900s to protect the villages from marauding bandits.
Easy riding...flat as...
We were objects of curiosity!
A watch tower.
The locals live on these boats. I couldn't find out if they work on the land of shift goods.
