Morocco March/April 2007

Four of us flew from Cairo to Casablanca, then trained to Marrakech then hired a car and drove south to the Sahara. Great country, people and shopping.

Chusonji Temple, Iwate, Japan

The temple at Chusonji was built in 850 and other temples were added by Lord Fujiwara in 1126. The Cedar trees are 400 yrs old plus. The actual golden (Chuson-ji temple) cannot be photographed but the building which covers the gold plated temple is shown here. Chusonji is at Hiraizumi approx 1 hr 30 min north of Sendai on the express way. It was a very very wet day when Chieko took me to see the temples.

Tis now February 06. Heart of winter - Sendai has great snow covering.

Todays mountain trip

I did a trip to the top of Mt Izumigatake(1750 meters) with 2 American friends today. The weather was perfect and the autumn colours better than the photos show.
